Thomas Henry Orr Greenville, SC Death, Obituary – Former Riverside High Athlete Dies at 24

Greenville, South Carolina, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Thomas Henry Orr, who passed away on October 23, 2026, at the age of 24. Born on June 24, 2002, and raised in Greenville, Thomas was a beloved son, brother, grandson, partner, and friend whose intelligence, humor, kindness, and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Thomas possessed an inquisitive mind and an eagerness to learn from an early age. Naturally resourceful and entrepreneurial, he enjoyed exploring new ideas, creating his own websites, and successfully navigating the stock market. His family described him as remarkably wise beyond his years, with talents and abilities that continued to surprise them. Among his most treasured gifts was his ability to play the piano, a skill he taught himself. Through beautiful melodies, he could move listeners emotionally and fill a room with a sense of wonder.

Thomas attended Riverside High School, where he played both football and basketball. His years there helped him form some of his closest and most enduring friendships, relationships that remained important to him long after graduation. He carried those connections with him into adulthood, valuing the people who had shared his formative years and the memories they created together.

In May 2026, Thomas graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Retail Management. He enjoyed traveling to different cities with his Sigma Nu fraternity brothers and took great pleasure in supporting the Gamecocks. His enthusiasm for sports and the camaraderie surrounding them provided opportunities to celebrate with friends and build memories that would remain meaningful to those who shared those experiences with him.

Following graduation, Thomas began working at VGL Inc. as a Regional Account Manager alongside his father, Henry, and his brother. The position represented another step in his professional journey, allowing him to contribute his abilities and work alongside members of his family.

At home, Thomas was an irreplaceable part of the Orr family. His parents, Henry and Stacey Orr, and his siblings shared a close bond rooted in unconditional love and time spent together. Whether he was teasing his sisters, challenging his siblings to friendly competitions, or bringing laughter to family gatherings, Thomas had a special way of making ordinary moments memorable.

Family football tailgates at Clemson and Carolina, beach trips, and vacations were among the experiences that brought everyone together. Thomas often became the life of the party, adding humor, excitement, and spontaneity to every gathering. His family remembers him as someone who could make even the simplest occasion more enjoyable simply by being present.

Thomas also possessed a rare ability to lift the spirits of others. His quick wit, infectious laughter, distinctive voice, and familiar expressions became defining parts of his personality. He could make people smile when they were struggling and bring lightness to difficult situations. His charm and thoughtfulness made it easy for others to connect with him, and his family believes that anyone who encountered him quickly wanted to become his friend.
